Terms of Service
The rules of the road for using VitalPost.
Last updated July 23, 2026
Plain-language summary: VitalPost is a marketplace that connects clinicians with employers. Clinicians never pay. Employers pay to post and promote jobs. Clinicians stay anonymous while they browse and message, but applying to a job sends that employer their CV and reveals their name and contact details — we say so before the application goes out (§6). We don't guarantee hires, we don't give legal or medical advice, and we expect everyone to be honest and professional. The full terms are below.
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and VitalPost ("VitalPost," "we," "us"). They govern your access to and use of vitalpost.io and all related services (the "Platform"). By creating an account, posting a listing, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
2. Who may use the Platform
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. If you use the Platform on behalf of an organization (for example, as a recruiter or hiring manager), you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms.
3. Accounts and roles
The Platform serves two primary roles:
- Clinicians — physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants who search for roles and may publish an availability profile. Clinician use is free.
- Employers — hospitals, health systems, groups, and recruiting organizations who post roles and search for talent. Employer use of paid features requires payment as described at checkout.
You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information, for keeping your credentials secure, and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
4. What VitalPost is — and is not
VitalPost is a venue that helps clinicians and employers find one another. We are not an employer, a staffing agency, a recruiter, or a party to any employment relationship formed through the Platform. We do not:
- guarantee that any listing will result in a hire, or that any search will result in a job;
- verify every credential, license, or claim made by any user (though we may verify some, such as NPI);
- provide legal, medical, financial, tax, or immigration advice. Content on the Platform, including resource articles, is for general information only and is not a substitute for professional advice.
Employment terms, offers, and contracts are strictly between the clinician and the employer. Always have an employment contract reviewed by qualified counsel before signing.
5. Listings and content standards
Employers are responsible for the legality and accuracy of their listings. Every job listing must include a valid contact email.
Stating compensation is strongly encouraged but not required. Listings that omit it display "Compensation not disclosed" and are excluded from compensation-based searches and alerts.
You agree not to post content that is false, misleading, discriminatory in violation of applicable law, harassing, or that infringes any third party's rights. We may remove any content, or suspend any account, that violates these Terms or that we reasonably believe is harmful, at our discretion.
6. Clinician anonymity and outreach
Clinician availability profiles are anonymized by design. Browsing the Platform, viewing listings, and exchanging messages with an employer on the Platform do not reveal a clinician's identity — the employer sees qualifications under an anonymous handle.
A clinician's name, contact details, and CV are released to an employer in two circumstances: when the clinician chooses to share them — by sharing their contact information, their CV, or a document, or by booking a call with that employer — and when the clinician applies to one of that employer's jobs.
Applying to a job is a reveal. When a clinician submits an application, their name and the contact details on their profile are released to that employer, and the CV on their profile — where the clinician has one on file and has not turned CV sharing off — is sent with the application. This happens at the moment the application is submitted; it reaches only the employer whose job was applied to, and no other employer; and it cannot be undone. Because applying is irreversible, the Platform states what will be sent and requires the clinician to confirm before the application goes out. A clinician who wants to ask about a role without revealing their identity can message the employer on the Platform without applying; choosing to have the employer reply to their own email address instead shares their name and email with that employer.
A reveal is scoped to the employer organization it was made to: the recruiting team at that organization may see it, and no other employer ever does. Within that organization a reveal is durable — once a clinician has shared their identity (including by applying), the organization retains what was shared, along with its own records of the connection, even if the clinician later ends the conversation. Ending a conversation deletes the message history; it does not undo a reveal.
Employers agree not to attempt to de-anonymize, scrape, or misuse clinician information, and to use any information obtained solely for legitimate recruiting.
7. Payments
Paid employer features (job listings, listing durations, promotional add-ons, and bumps) are billed at the prices shown at checkout. Prices may change prospectively; changes never affect a listing you have already purchased.
Promotional placements. A promotional add-on buys placement for a fixed period, stated at checkout, rather than for the life of the listing; where an add-on is a badge with no period of its own, it runs for the remainder of the listing term. A period begins when the purchase is activated — that is, when payment clears — and not when checkout is opened. You may buy the same placement again on the same listing. If you do so while a period is still running, the new period is added to the time remaining rather than replacing it, so purchased placement is never overwritten; if the previous period has already ended, a new full period begins on activation and is not back-dated to cover time the listing was not placed. For a limited period after a placement ends, that same placement on that same listing may be offered for renewal at a reduced rate shown at checkout. Renewal pricing is specific to the listing and the add-on, is determined when the order is quoted, and is not combined with any promotional code applied to the same order.
Bumps. A "bump" affects sort position only: it resets the listing's posted date so the listing again appears at the top of results ordered by most recently posted. A bump does not extend the listing term, does not change the amount paid for the listing, does not re-send job alerts to clinicians, and does not create, extend, or otherwise affect any promotional placement. Each live listing includes one bump at no charge every 14 days; additional bumps may be purchased at any time at the price shown at checkout, and buying one does not consume the included bump. Included allowances and their cadence may change prospectively; changes never affect a listing you have already purchased.
Listing refunds. A paid job listing may be refunded within 7 days of the date it is published. The refund is prorated for the unused portion of the listing term — you are charged for the days the listing was live (the posting day counts as day one) and refunded the remainder. Refunds are issued to your original payment method and can be requested any time from your Billing page; issuing a refund removes the listing from the board (existing conversations are retained). After 7 days, listing fees are non-refundable, as the value (visibility to candidates) has been substantially delivered. A refund covers the listing fee only: promotional add-ons, advertising placements, and bump fees are non-refundable except where required by law, because that placement runs on its own shorter period and is substantially delivered. A repost is itself a paid listing purchase and is refundable on the same terms as any other listing.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) scrape, crawl, or harvest data except as expressly permitted; (b) send spam or unsolicited bulk communications through or facilitated by the Platform; (c) interfere with or attempt to compromise the Platform's security; (d) misrepresent your identity or affiliation; or (e) use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
9. Intellectual property
The Platform, including its design, software, and original content, is owned by VitalPost and protected by law. You retain ownership of content you submit, and you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate and promote the Platform.
10. Disclaimers
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any listing or profile is accurate.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VITALPOST WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) US $100.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold VitalPost harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your content, your use of the Platform, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Platform at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Platform or its users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including payment, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide reasonable notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
Changes to the anonymity rules are not retroactive. A change to how or when a clinician's identity is revealed applies only to actions taken on or after the date that change takes effect. Applications submitted, and conversations opened, before that date stay governed by the rules that were in effect when they were made — we do not go back and reveal a clinician who acted under earlier rules.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which VitalPost is organized, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
