About the role
Cascade Medical Center anchors our Pacific Northwest trauma network — a Level II center seeing roughly 90,000 visits a year with a 44-bed main ED, a 10-bed observation unit, and dedicated behavioral-health pods. You will work alongside a stable core group (average tenure 9 years), APPs staffing fast track, and scribes on every shift.
The group runs a transparent, equitable scheduling model: shift counts and overnight burden are published quarterly, and physicians over 55 rotate off nights entirely. Epic with Dragon, bedside ultrasound on every cart, and admitting services that actually answer their pagers.
Portland gives you a food-and-coffee city with the Gorge, Mount Hood, and the coast each ninety minutes away. Most of our docs bike to work more months than not.

Requirements
- MD or DO with Emergency Medicine residency completion
- ABEM/AOBEM certified or board eligible within 5 years
- Oregon license or IMLC letter of qualification
- ATLS, ACLS, and PALS current
- Comfort supervising APPs and precepting residents
